Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday (3 November) launched a sharp attack on the Opposition’s INDIA alliance in Bihar, mocking Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav as “Pappu”, “Tappu”, and “Akku,” reported NDTV.
Speaking at a rally in Keoti, Darbhanga, Yogi compared the three leaders to Mahatma Gandhi’s symbolic monkeys. “Just as Mahatma Gandhi had three monkeys, today the INDIA alliance brought in three monkeys in the name of Pappu, Tappu, and Appu (Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and Akhilesh Yadav). Pappu cannot speak the truth or say anything good. Tappu cannot see any truth, and Appu cannot hear the truth,” he remarked.
He accused the Congress, RJD, and Samajwadi Party of “embracing criminals” and compromising Bihar’s security by “allowing infiltrators.”
Yogi said the Opposition ignored the NDA’s development work, alleging, “These three people hug and mingle with the family mafias and disrupt the security of the state.”
Condemning caste-based politics, Yogi said, “With guns and pistols, they tainted Bihar's entire system… Congress and RJD, and their partner in Uttar Pradesh in the form of Samajwadi Party, are blatant Hindu traitors, Ram traitors, and opponents of Maa Janaki.”
Bihar will vote in two phases on 6 and 11 November, with results to be announced on 14 November. Keoti will see a four-way contest among BJP, RJD, AIMIM, and Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a grand roadshow in Patna and attacked the Congress-RJD alliance, saying, “The explosions took place in Pakistan, but the Congress royal family spent sleepless nights,” while accusing the Opposition of internal rifts over seat-sharing.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah too criticised the Mahagathbandhan, saying that voting them to power would take Bihar back to the days of 'jungle raj.'
