A Delhi court decided on Friday (27 October) to extend the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh until 10 November in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise scam.
Special Judge MK Nagpal granted Singh permission to do signatures on cheques for his family's financial needs and his work as a Member of Parliament. The judge also issued instructions to the relevant prison authorities to guarantee Sanjay Singh's proper medical treatment, which may involve consultations with his personal physician.
According to India Today, the judge stated, "The court sees no reason to refuse private treatment to the accused... Hence, the jail superintendent concerned is directed to ensure the appropriate treatment."
Furthermore, the counsel representing the accused was tasked with ensuring that no supporters of Sanjay Singh or others would gather at the medical facility during his examination.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
