Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Argentina's Ministry of Defence have signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of Light and Medium Utility Helicopters for the Argentine armed forces.

The letter of intent was signed by Argentinian Defence Minister Jorge Taiana and HAL Chairman and Managing Director C B Ananthakrishnan.

This partnership aims to strengthen productive collaboration between the two entities.

Ananthakrishnan and other senior company officers provided the visiting dignitaries with an overview of HAL's various activities. They also delivered a presentation to showcase the company's achievements and capabilities.

As part of the day-long programme, Taiana and his team had the opportunity to witness the flying display of various HAL products at HAL Airport.

Additionally, they visited the LCA and Helicopter Divisions, where they displayed a keen interest in HAL's products.

"The Argentine Defence Minister remarked that the day was interesting and a step on the road to an ever growing and strong collaboration with HAL," the public sector aerospace and defence company said in a tweet.
