Addressing a public meeting in Karamadai , near Coimbatore, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda came down heavily on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party.

He said that while for the BJP it is nation first, party next and self last, the DMK is a family party and for it the interest of the state and the nation is secondary. He also attacked the Congress, which is the DMK’s junior partner in the state for its dynastic politics.

He said that while the DMK was “Karunanidhi and sons”, the Congress was “Gandhi and sons”.

He had earlier referred to the DMK as ‘Dynastic-Money Swindling-Katta Panchayat.’ (Katta Panchayat means kangaroo courts).

Referring to the election of Draupadi Murmu as the President of India, he said that it was the BJP that had given the country its first Dalit woman President. According to him, this was possible due to the party’s mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.’

He then praised the performance of the central government and said that India has done much better than other countries during the pandemic due to free vaccination and interventions like the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana. Further, he added that all sections of people have benefited due to the development-oriented approach of the Narendra Modi government.

With regards to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, which started from Tamil Nadu, he said that the Yatra was dividing the country instead of uniting the country.

He urged the party workers to leave no stone unturned in order to ensure that the state goes into the safe hands of Narendra Modi and said that he was confident of a ‘lotus bloom’, i.e., BJP winning many seats from the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of state president K Annamalai.
