The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday (26 October) issued a summons to Vaibhav Gehlot, the son of Rajasthans Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, as part of a Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violation investigation.

Gehlot responded to the development on X, connecting it to recent events. He wrote, "Date 25/10/23 Congress launches guarantees for women of Rajasthan. Date 26/10/23 ED raid on Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh ji Dotasara, Summons to my son Vaibhav Gehlot to appear before ED."

"Now you can understand what I have been saying that ED's raids are happening daily in Rajasthan because BJP does not want that women, farmers, and the poor in Rajasthan should get the benefit of the guarantees given by Congress," Gehlot further wrote.

Vaibhav has been instructed to appear before the ED at their office, either in Jaipur or New Delhi, on Friday, Hindustan Times reported.

These summons are related to recent ED raids conducted against Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt. Ltd., a Rajasthan-based hospitality group, Vardha Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., as well as their directors and promoters Shiv Shankar Sharma, Rattan Kant Sharma, and others.

Simultaneously, the ED carried out raids on the residences of Congress' state unit president, Govind Singh Dotasara, and Independent MLA Om Prakash Hudla in connection with an alleged paper leak case related to the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers 2021, which is conducted for the recruitment of government school teachers.

These developments come in the context of the upcoming legislative assembly elections in the state, with polling scheduled for 25 November and vote counting set for 3 December.
