Addressing a press meet today (12 May), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president, K Annamalai said that he would like Chief Minister MK Stalin to file another defamation case against him through the city public prosecutor for the release of the audio tape in which the voice, allegedly that of former Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan (PTR), says that the son and son-in-law of the CM have earned Rs 30,000 crore.
He said, "I want the audio to go to court. I want it to get a forensic examination. I am ready to submit all other tapes that I have."
Chief Minister Stalin had filed a criminal defamation case against Annamalai on 10 May for the allegation that he (Stalin) is the beneficiary of a Rs 200 crore bribe paid by French company Alstom during the tender process for Phase 1 of the Chennai metro.
Further, he said, "While the CM has changed PTR's portfolio from Finance to Information Technology (IT) due to the impact of the tapes, it is not PTR who has done a mistake. PTR had only pointed out the wrongs that are happening. What is said in the tapes is actually an allegation made against the Chief Minister's family."
Regarding the DMK Files, he said that the second part would be released in the first week of July.
