Tamil Nadu: Minister K Ponmudy Taken To ED Office For Questioning After Raids

Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials have taken Higher Education minister K Ponmudy to the agency's office in Chennai for questioning after conducting raids at premises linked to him and his son P Gowthamasigamani.

Earlier, it was reported that the agency had seized Indian currency worth Rs 70 lakh and foreign currency worth Rs 10 lakh, during the raids.

While the ED has not made an official announcement regarding the reason for the raid, Ponmudy has been facing allegations of land-grab and misusing his powers to grant permits for quarrying of red sand.
