In Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri, a woman has accused her husband of pronouncing triple talaq three times during their 12-year marriage. She also alleged that she was forced to undergo nikah halala with her brother-in-law, according to the police.
The police are currently investigating the woman's allegations and have stated that they will file a First Information Report (FIR) and take appropriate action. Additional Superintendent of Police Nepal Singh shared this information.
The police are actively looking into the matter and are taking the woman's claims seriously. They will ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted and that justice is served.
According to the complaint, the woman alleged that her husband demanded Rs 1 lakh as dowry and subsequently divorced her through triple talaq two years into their marriage.
She further claimed that he forced her to undergo nikah halala with her brother-in-law before remarrying her.
According to the woman, she experienced a similar traumatic situation in 2020. Unfortunately, on 4 July this year, she was once again subjected to triple talaq by her husband.
When her parents stepped in to intervene, her husband insisted on the practice of nikah halala and even threatened them with severe consequences.
