India’s Annapurna Certificate program could be a game-changer—a Michelin-style global honor for authentic Indian cuisine. But is it truly showcasing the full spectrum of India’s culinary wealth?

So far, the award has overwhelmingly favored North Indian cuisine, reinforcing global stereotypes while sidelining the rich traditions of the South, East, and West.

Worse, its branding and marketing remain weak, with winners barely promoting it.
