Writing to you from Coimbatore, where something noteworthy happened yesterday. FM Nirmala Sitharaman met with industry representatives in the city for the first-of-a-kind problem-solving session.

This meeting comes soon after the 54th GST Council meeting that happened a couple of days back, and touched on issues that matter to us—like GST refunds, high cotton prices, and challenges in textiles and metals.

We're saying first-of-a-kind because, unlike the any previous meeting, this was aimed to sort out smaller problems on the spot, something many here found refreshing. Larger issues will take time, but it was encouraging to see action being taken right away.
