Dear Listener,

Namaste! I'm Diksha Yadav, your host for π–π‘πšπ 𝐓𝐑𝐒𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬, a weekly Swarajya podcast show.

Ahead of the 2024 general elections, we have been bringing you episodes on states that would be interesting to watch out for. So far, we have covered Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.

In today's episode with our guest Rohit Pathania, we discussed all that is happening in Punjab, one of the most interesting states to watch in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

According to him, this time, the BJP is in a better position in the state than it was even a year ago, as the party has been building its cadre on the ground aggressively for quite some time now.

As a result, the BJP's prospects look very strong in the following four Lok Sabha seatsβ€”two of them are traditional bastions in a way: Gurdaspur and Amritsar. Another seat is Jalandhar, which has also been a BJP seat in the past, and it might be the case this time again. The fourth seat is Ludhiana in the Malwa belt.

Pathania says if the BJP really wants to be seen as a serious contender, continually, it has to probably quell all talks of any alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal and contest on these four seats with all its might.

"BJP-SAD alliance would be an advantage for SAD, but not so much for the BJP." Why? Where do the INDI Alliance partners, AAP and Congress, stand? How Punjab votes? Pathania answers all of these questions in our latest episode.
