Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the opposition alliance today, calling them "directionless".

He mentioned the groups "Indian Mujahideen" and "Popular Front of India" as he mocked the alliance's new name, INDIA.

During the BJP parliamentary party weekly meeting, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad quoted the Prime Minister, stating, "I have never seen such a directionless opposition".

PM Modi also targeted the opposition alliance for the name they chose during a recent meeting in Bengaluru to discuss strategy for the 2024 national election. The name, INDIA, stands for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.

Prasad quoted the Prime Minister, who criticised the opposition's self-praise for the name INDIA. The Prime Minister pointed out that the Indian National Congress, East India Company, Indian Mujahideen, and Popular Front of India also consist of the word 'India,' therefore, simply using the name INDIA does not hold any significant meaning.

People cannot be deceived solely by the use of a country's name, according to his statement.

Sharp comments have been made amidst a parliamentary deadlock over the Manipur crisis and repeated disruptions caused by the opposition's demand for a statement from PM Modi on issues such as the viral video of two women being paraded naked and assaulted by a mob in May.

The Prime Minister has described the opposition as "defeated, tired, hopeless, with a single-point agenda - opposing Modi". Their behavior indicates that they have already decided to remain in the opposition, as reported by PM Modi.

With the support of the people, he expressed confidence that the BJP would easily win the 2024 polls.

The government's plans to push key legislation in parliament have been stalled due to the ongoing row over Manipur.

Since the monsoon session began last Thursday (20 July), both houses of parliament have been repeatedly adjourned with little business being conducted. This comes in the wake of the disturbing video from Manipur that surfaced a day before the session started.

PM Modi expressed his anguish and anger in his pre-session remarks, assuring the nation that no guilty party will be spared. He emphasized that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law. The Prime Minister made it clear that the unforgivable incident that occurred in Manipur should not be overlooked.

The opposition, now known as the "INDIA" coalition, demanded a comprehensive statement from the Prime Minister in both houses of parliament.

While the government has offered to discuss the issue of Manipur in both houses, it accuses the opposition of intentionally obstructing the passage of discussion through their protests.
