The Motion of No-Confidence against the Union government, introduced by Congress MP from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi, was defeated in the Lok Sabha by a voice vote.
Some minutes before the vote, when PM Modi's speech was going on, the Opposition staged a walk-out.
Following PM Modi's speech, the Speaker called out Gogoi's name for the latter to use his privilege and make the last speech before the vote. However, neither Gogoi nor the Congress party MPs were in the House.
