In a gathering of BJP karyakartas in Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the struggles faced by the Pasmanda Muslim community and called for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
PM Modi's statement comes at a crucial time as the BJP intensifies its outreach program aimed at the Pasmanda Muslim community, a segment that has faced discrimination and neglect over the years.
Highlighting the hardships endured by Pasmanda Muslims, the Prime Minister emphasized that their lives have been made "hellish" due to vote bank politics. He lamented that these citizens live in constant struggle and often find themselves unheard by those in power.
“The lives of our Pasmanda Muslim brothers and sisters have been made hellish by those who do vote bank politics. They live a life of struggle. No one listens to them. They have been discriminated against so much, but there has been no debate on this. Even today, Pasmanda Muslims are not given an equal share. They are thought of as untouchables,” the Prime Minister was quoted by the Indian Express as saying.
PM Modi further stressed that Pasmanda Muslims have been subjected to extensive discrimination, even being regarded as untouchables, without any substantial debate or efforts to rectify the situation.
“They have been discriminated against so much that several generations have had to suffer. But BJP will work for every citizen with the mindset of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’. When our booth workers will go with this mindset to Muslim brothers and sisters and help them understand, then all misunderstandings will be cleared," he added.
In his address, PM Modi reiterated his belief that by approaching Pasmanda Muslims with empathy and understanding, misunderstandings can be cleared, and their long-standing grievances can be addressed effectively. The Prime Minister highlighted the role of BJP booth workers in reaching out to the Pasmanda Muslim community and helping them comprehend the party's inclusive vision.
