The Supreme Court on Wednesday revived criminal conspiracy charges against BJP leaders LK Advani, MM Joshi, Uma Bharti and others. Former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh was also named in the list but no proceedings can be carried out against him as long as he is in the office of governor. Singh is currently the governor of Rajasthan.
As regarding his role in the Babri case, there is an old clip on the web where Kalyan Singh is seen narrating the order of events as they unfolded on 6 December, 1992, the day the disputed structure in Ayodhya was razed.
In the clip, Singh is seen telling a gathering that he was clear in his mind that come what may, he would not have ordered the police to fire at the crowd of karsevaks gathered around the structure that day.
He also talks about a phone call he got on the fateful day from the then Union Home Minister Shankarrao Chavan.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
