A day after getting Aman Arora as the new president of its Punjab unit, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading three of four seats that voted for assembly bypolls on 20 November.

AAP is leading in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha while Congress is leading only on one seat in Barnala. The BJP is at third position in all four seats.

Notably, Congress won in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha in the 2022 Punjab elections and AAP won in Barnala.

The trends suggest a swing in all seats. After this, the AAP will have 94 seats in the 117-seat Punjab assembly, up from 92 it won in 2022.
