A Pakistani intruder was killed by the Border Security Force (BSF) along the International Border in Punjab's Pathankot district.
Around 12.30 am on Monday (14 August), the BSF troops noticed suspicious movement near Simbal Sakol village in Pathankot.
Upon challenging the intruder, he disregarded the warning and continued to advance.
Sensing threat, the BSF troops opened fire and killed the intruder on the spot, news agency PTI reported citing an official.
Earlier, on 11 August, a Pakistani intruder was neutralised by BSF troops along the International Border in Tarn Taran district.
In July, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a major narcotic smuggling bid along the International Border (IB) as it shot dead a Pakistani intruder in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district.
In May, BSF killed two unidentified intruders from Pakistan, who had crossed into Indian territory and recovered three packets of suspected contraband items close to the India-Pakistan border while it arrested a Pakistani national near the International Border in Punjab in the same month.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
