Minister Senthil Balaji, who is lodged in the Puzhal prison after being arrested in connection with the cash-for-jobs scam during his tenure as Transport minister, has been admitted to the Omandurar Hospital.
Earlier today (15 November) evening, he was taken to the state government run Stanley Medical College Hospital for check up.
Balaji had previously been taken to the hospital in October after complaints of chest pain, high blood pressure and numbness in the leg.
He had filed a bail plea on medical grounds before the Supreme Court after the Madras High Court rejected his petition.
Recently, the Principal Sessions Court in Chennai extended his judicial custody till 22 November.
