A R Foods, a company based in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul, which allegedly supplied the adulterated ghee used for the Tirupati laddu, has come under further scrutiny.
Writing in a post on X, Selva Kumar, the vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) industrial cell noted that the company also supplies ghee to the Murugan temple in Palani, calling for extensive testing of the prasadam being provided by temples under the control of the state government.
He further mentioned that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government had appointed the company's owner, Rajasekar, as a trustee of the Palani Murugan temple.
A R Foods later denied the allegations and said the sample tested did not belong to them.
