Hindustan Petroleum, SECI Ink Pact To Work Together In Renewable Energy, Electric Mobility And Alternative Fuels

Oil major Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Solar Energy Corporation of India have signed a pact for collaboration in the fields of renewable energy, electric mobility and alternative fuels.
The pact will help the HPCL to further diversify in the renewable energy and electric mobility sectors.
"In order to realise green energy objectives and government's efforts towards carbon-neutral economy, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) (SECI) on 24 February in New Delhi," Petroleum Ministry said in a release on Monday (28 February).
The MoU was signed by Shuvendu Gupta, chief general manager- biofuels and renewables, HPCL, and SECI executive director Sanjay Sharma.
The MoU envisages cooperation and collaboration in the field of Renewable Energy, Electric Mobility, and alternative fuels including the development of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) projects, the ministry said.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) is a Central PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). It was set up in 2011 to facilitate the implementation of National Solar Mission (NSM).
SECI is engaged in the promotion and development of various renewable energy resources, especially Solar and Wind energy, RE-based Storage Systems, Waste to Energy, trading of power, R&D Projects as well as RE base products like Green Hydrogen, green Ammonia, RE powered EV, etc.
