  • After two days of questioning, officers are suspicious of her confident responses.
  • Her timing of mobile phone purchase and passport issuance also raises doubts.
  • The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police continued the interrogation of Seema Haider, a Pakistani citizen, and her Indian husband, Sachin Meena, at an undisclosed location in Noida on Tuesday (18 July).

This questioning marks the second consecutive day, with officials from Central intelligence agencies also participating.

The couple was apprehended in the morning from their residence in Greater Noida's Rabupura. Similar questioning took place on Monday at the ATS office, and later in the night, they were dropped back home.

However, despite intense interrogation lasting for almost 16 hours over two days, no concrete evidence has been found to establish her links with Pakistan's intelligence agency, the ISI.

The confident manner in which she answered most questions has left the ATS and other agencies vigilant, suspecting that she may be attempting to mislead them.

There are also apprehensions that she might be receiving guidance from someone within India. Moreover, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has provided significant information to the UP ATS concerning this case.

Haider, along with her four children, entered India on a bus from Nepal in May to reunite with her partner, Sachin Meena, who resides in the Rabupura area of Greater Noida.

During the investigation, the individuals who aided Seema Haider in reaching the village in Noida remain unidentified. Additionally, the ATS discovered that she had sent friend requests to several military officers.

Seema had purchased a mobile phone in Pakistan for approximately 70,000 Pakistani rupees before arriving in India, as she informed the ATS during questioning. The ATS also inquired if she was instructed to be cautious while communicating via messages and phone chats.

One crucial revelation during the interrogation was the ATS's inquiry about Seema Haider's use of codewords. In the coded language of Pakistani intelligence, "Fufi" refers to a person who provides information to the ISI about their country, while "Fruit" is a codeword used for money.

Seema denied any knowledge of Urdu or its usage in Pakistan when asked about these codewords. However, her fluency in Hindi and use of complex Hindi words, which would be difficult to know without formal education, have raised doubts.

Another suspicious aspect of the case is the timing of Seema Haider's mobile phone bill for 8 May, which she produced during the interrogation.

On the same day, she was issued a passport, and just two days later, on 10 May, she left Pakistan. The investigation is still ongoing, and agencies are tirelessly working to uncover the truth behind Seema Haider's statements and actions.

The authorities from UP Police and Central agencies are meticulously seeking all possible details from Haider about her travel route from Karachi to Greater Noida.

There are reports suggesting that some of her relatives have connections with the Pakistani Army, leading the agencies to explore potential security implications.

Seema Haider initially got in touch with Sachin Meena through the online gaming application PUBG. However, on 4 July, she was arrested by the UP Police for illegal entry into India, after a tip-off from a lawyer hired for registering their marriage.

Subsequently, Meena was also apprehended for sheltering illegal immigrants. Despite this, both were granted bail by a local court on 7 July and have been living together in Greater Noida ever since.
