The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have opened a secure passage in northern Gaza, allowing residents to relocate to the comparatively safer southern region of the coastal territory, NDTV has reported.
The IDF stated in a post that they will refrain from conducting operations along this corridor during the hours of 10 AM to 1 PM, emphasising the importance of residents taking advantage of this timeframe to move southward for their safety.
The IDF underlined their concern for the safety of Gaza's residents and their families, urging compliance with the relocation guidance.
Furthermore, they noted that Hamas leaders have already secured the safety of themselves and their families.
Earlier today, the IDF released images alleging that Hamas is obstructing individuals from accessing southern Gaza, accusing the group of employing human shields.
In related developments, a former national security adviser of Israel asserted that Hamas is deliberately placing hostages in areas where they anticipate Israeli bombings.
This follows Hamas' claim of additional Israeli hostages being killed in Gaza due to Israeli airstrikes.
Amidst this tense situation, Israeli forces are preparing for a potential ground invasion of Gaza with the objective of neutralising Hamas, the Palestinian group responsible for a recent severe attack in Israel.
In the span of eight days since the initial Hamas attack that claimed the lives of more than 1,300 Israelis, Israel has responded with a relentless bombing campaign resulting in over 2,300 casualties in Gaza.
Entire city blocks in Gaza lie devastated, and the healthcare facilities are overwhelmed with an influx of thousands of injured individuals in this besieged territory.
