Police in Columbus (Ohio) reported that Saiesh Veera, a 24-year-old Masters student from Andhra Pradesh died after being shot at the fuel station where he was working.
According to the police, Veera was found with a gunshot wound at 12:50 AM on 20 April. He was taken to a hospital by Columbus Fire Service, where he was declared dead at 1:27 am.
The police have shared a photo of the suspect taken from CCTV footage.
Rohit Yalamanchili, who is running an online fundraising program to send Veera's body to India said that Veera was to graduate in 10 days and he had planned to leave the fuel station job in a few weeks.
Further, he said that Veera was the first in his family to come to the US and had many aspirations to uplift his family after his father's recent death.
He added that Veera was well known in the cricketing circuit of the city and had a helpful attitude towards people.
