‘Fake Campaign On Hindu Terror, Godhra Incident, Nirav Modi Case Shattered In A Single Day’: Arun Jaitley

Union finance minister Arun Jaitley stated that three fake campaigns of ‘compulsive contrarians’ — the Hindu terror theory, the Godhra incident and Nirav Modi case — were shattered in a single day.
“A fundamental difference between truth and falsehood is that truth holds together and falsehood falls apart. To each fake campaign of the ‘compulsive contrarians’ over a period of time, ultimately the truth has prevailed. Either it is the electoral mandate or the judicial process which gives the final verdict,” he wrote in a Facebook blog post on Thursday (21 March).
While in the Samjhauta Express blast case, the trial court on Wednesday (20 March) busted the UPA government’s theory of Hindu terror, in the Godhra case (2001) the court convicted one more person. Also, the fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, accused of a Rs 14,000 crore scam was arrested in the United Kingdom (UK) on the same day.
Jaitley added that Nirav Modi began cheating the public sector banks (PSBs) starting from 2011 under the second UPA government.
“There is an inherent danger in relying only on fake issues. They crack up and collapse as three of them did yesterday. I hope the manufacturers’ of fake campaign learns some lesson. They don’t seem to be considering their brazen attitude,” Jaitley concluded.
Jaitley Attacks Economists Too
On 19 March (2019), in a scathing rebuttal to the letter by 108 eminent economists raising concerns over the validity of India’s statistical data, Jaitley described a majority of them as ‘compulsive contrarians’.
He pointed out that even a cursory analysis of the list of signatories to the letter revealed that majority of them had been habitual participants in various political campaigns against the current government.
