The challenges to our temple ecosystem are a fairly large topic with several facets to it. We need solutions that include constitutional amendments, societal changes, trust and transparency, to name a few.

Fortunately, we have several luminaries striving to do the needful. However, even after they all succeed in their endeavours, if the devotees are limiting their involvement to consuming information on social media, absolutely nothing is going to change at the temples.

That is the fundamental challenge that the “My Temple” initiative seeks to resolve.

Their technology solution essentially connects individuals to a specific temple that they are emotionally connected to. They do this by offering a platform that provides privacy and convenience, and is grounded in their core philosophy of building trust through transparency and process driven delivery.

This mission is fuelled and guided by the passion of the founders and their belief in the power of the temple ecosystem. They believe that preserving temples for cultural heritage is of paramount importance, and the benefits extend not only to the present but also to future generations.

They see our temples as the embodiment of centuries-old traditions, architectural brilliance, artistic achievements, and become the custodians of cultural practices and rituals and believe that their conservation establishes a vital link between the bygone era, the present, and the future.

To this effect, they have launched an initiative called “Maha Prasadam” that empowers temples to offer prasadam at 40 temples on a weekly basis after the main puja. This has resulted in an increased footfall at the temple and seen a consistent increase in the number of devotees visiting the temple.

The unique aspect of the programme is that the data and photos from the weekly offering of prasadam are collected and the consolidated data is then reported back to the people who have contributed to make this a reality.

This ability to offer transparency end-to-end has created the necessary trust-based relationships among the patrons that motivates them to continue support on a regular basis. And it is this emotional connection built and backed up by transparency that sets this programme apart from other initiatives.

Here's the effectiveness of the programme over the 18 months:

The need of the hour is a multitude of solutions that cater to the diversity and vastness of our culture. And this is one solution that caters well to the tier-3 and tier-4 temples in our country.

They are an 80G approved non-profit trust and have the necessary organisational and technical capabilities to scale their impact multifold through proven process driven initiatives. With their current growth they are all set to impact 500 temples by mid-2024.
