7 March, 2024: I.N.D.I. Alliance Offers 8 Seats To NDA's Chirag Paswan In Bihar

Looking to take advantage of tussle between Chirag Paswan and his uncle Pashupati Paras, the opposition alliance has reportedly offered eight seats to Chirag in Bihar.

Apart from number of seats to contest from, the other bone of contention between the LJP factions was the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat from where Pashupati Paras is the current MP. Chirag Paswan has however staked the claim on the seat citing the legacy of his father Ram Vilas Paswan and called it his "karmabhoomi".

Seat sharing has become even more complicated for NDA in Bihar due to the return of Nitish Kumar into the fold. It is worth noting that while Chirag Paswan had called PM Modi his Ram and said he was his Hanuman, he kept up his attacks on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

7 March, 2024: Rahul From Wayanad and Amethi, Priyanka From Raebareli?

Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Congress party met on Thursday to finalise the first list of its candidates. The speculations are rife that Rahul Gandhi, who is a the present MP from Wayanad after he lost Amethi to Smriti Irani, may contest again from both Amethi and Wayanad.

Congress cadres have also demanded that Priyanka Gandhi make her debut from Raebareli after her mother Sonia Gandhi vacated the constituency to move to Rajya Sabha.

Other likely names in the first list include: Shashi Tharoor from Thiruvananthapuram, Bhupesh Baghel from Rajnandgaon, Tamradhwaj Sahu from Durg, Jyotsna Mahant from Korba, Shiv Dehariya from Janjgir-Champa.

Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radhakrishna Doddamani is being considered the frontrunner for Gulbarga even though the seat wasn't discussed at the meeting.

Several names were considered for seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi: JP Agrawal, Sandeep Dikshit, and Alka Lamba for Chandni Chowk, Arvinder Singh Lovely and Anil Chowdhary for Northeast Delhi, and Rajkumar Chauhan and Udit Raj for Northwest Delhi.
