The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Thursday successfully conducted flight trials of the UAV-Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM)-V3.
The tests were carried out at the National Open Air Range (NOAR) in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, validating the system’s performance, accuracy, and integration with unmanned aerial platforms.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO scientists and lauded the role of Indian industry, including MSMEs and private firms, in delivering a cutting-edge, combat-ready missile system.
The ULPGM-V3 is designed for high-precision strikes against armoured targets and fortified enemy positions, offering fire-and-forget capability, improved range, and enhanced seeker performance.
This marks a significant step in India's push for self-reliance in defence under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, and paves the way for deployment of low-cost smart munitions from UAVs in future battlefields.
