Delhi Metro And RITES Join Forces To Execute Domestic And International Metro Projects

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and RITES, a leading transportation infrastructure consulting firm, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on metro projects both in India and abroad.

This strategic partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organisations in managing and maintaining metro systems, marking a significant step towards expanding their expertise in urban transit solutions.

Serving as the export arm of Indian Railways for rolling stock, RITES has established itself as a leader in technical consultancy services.

According to an official press release, the collaboration will encompass a range of services, including general consultancy, project management, detailed design, feasibility studies, and more.

By pooling resources and expertise, DMRC and RITES seek to provide world-class urban transit solutions while tapping into growing opportunities in the metro sector, both domestically and internationally.

This partnership also aligns with RITES' ongoing international expansion efforts under its "RITES Videsh" initiative. The combined strength of DMRC's extensive experience in metro rail operations and RITES' infrastructure expertise will enable them to capitalise on emerging opportunities in the global transit systems space, as per an ANI report.

RITES Limited has made significant strides in the infrastructure sector, both domestically and internationally, having worked on projects in over 55 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.

RITES' involvement in India’s first major mass transit project, Delhi Metro, from concept to commissioning, marked a significant milestone by revolutionising urban mobility through the introduction of comfortable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly transit options.

The company’s expertise in metro projects is also showcased through its work on systems like the Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro, Ahmedabad Metro, and Mauritius Metro, successfully delivering technically complex projects within the stipulated timelines and budgets.
