The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) broke its own highest passenger journeys record, made last week (28 August), by registering an unprecedented 71.03 lakh passenger journeys on Monday (4 September).
This marked the highest ever daily passenger journeys on the Delhi Metro.
The previous highest recorded passenger journey count stood at 69.94 lakh and 68.16 lakh on 28 August and 29 August 2023, respectively.
This milestone, achieved on 4 September, comes after a period of challenges that reflects the resilience and trust of the Delhi-NCR citizens in the world-class transportation system provided by DMRC.
The Yellow Line drew maximum with 1,935,752 passengers, followed by 1,874,167 commuters on Blue Line and 768,742 passengers on Red Line. Green Line was used by 3,35,529 commuters.
Violet Line, Pink Line and other routes also drew substantial passengers on Monday (4 September).
DMRC continues to prioritise passenger safety and comfort while enhancing connectivity across the Delhi-NCR region. This milestone underscores the DMRC's mission to provide accessible, reliable, and sustainable transportation solutions.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
