Upset over the unending disruption of the Lok Sabha today, LK Advani expressed displeasure with the House Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar for not being able to run the House and wondered why it can’t be adjourned ‘sine die’.
“Who's running the house? It is running on its own...Neither the Speaker (Sumitra Mahajan) nor the Parliamentary Affairs Minister is running the House," Advani was heard telling Mr Kumar in the Lok Sabha after summoning him to his seat.
"I am going to tell the Speaker that she is not running the House... I am going to say it publicly. Both sides are a party to this," he said while Kumar unsuccessfully tried to pacify the senior parliamentarian. Kumar was also seen pointing at the press gallery just above the Speaker's chair, apparently informing Advani that his comments were being recorded.
Advani reportedly made these comments after the House was adjourned. He said the house should not run amid din and slogan-shouting. The Lok Sabha has been witnessing noisy disruptions since the second day of the winter session that started on 16 November.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
