The urban planning body of Haryana, the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has thrown up a surprise success in its latest online auction of commercial sites in Panchkula, earning Rs 100 crores, reported The Tribune. HSVP had seen a series of its e-auctions dismally fail over the last six months before this turnaround.
Yestrday’s (7 December) auction had 50 commercial sites up for grabs, including 12 Shop-cum-Offices (five-storeyed, along with basement) or SCOs in Sector 5, 12 SCOs (three-storeyed) in the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) in Sector 5, and 22 booths as well as double-storeyed shops in MDC, Sector 6.
29 of the sites were sold today, generating a revenue of Rs 100.58 crores for the HSVP. Estate Officer at HSVP Ashutosh Rajan revealed that in seven previous auctions they had generated a combined total of only Rs 85 crores from 37 sites sold over a six month period.
The keenest interest was directed towards SCOs located in sector 5, with SCO 55 in sector 5 city centre attracting the highest bid of Rs 6.02 crores and a corner SCO (three-storeyed with basement) in the MDC, Sector 5 fetched Rs 4.66 crores.
