The Punjab Legislative Assembly was adjourned earlier today after Speaker Rana KP Singh decided to suspend sloganeering legislators of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The legislators were suspended after they threw papers at him for not conceding to AAP MLA Sukhpal Khaira’s adjournment motion on sand mining.
AAP MLAs demanded that the motion be taken up shortly after noon which was refused by the speaker. They immediately rushed to the well of the house and threw papers at him before they were suspended for a day and the house adjourned.
Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh took to social media to air his displeasure.
Shocked & disgusted at behaviour of AAP MLAs in Vidhan Sabha, not seen such disrespect to Speaker in 50 yrs in politics, strongly condemn.
