Online retailer Amazon, in partnership with Cleartrip, has introduced flight bookings in India, NDTV Gadgets reports. Customers can avail the new service on the Amazon Pay dashboard in either the Amazon app or their website.
Currently, Amazon would be offering only basic flight booking experience, and customers would only be able to book domestic flights. To attract customers, the e-retailer is offering up to Rs 2,000 cashback on their Amazon Pay wallet.
The flight bookings are said to have gone live on the website on Thursday evening (16 May), without many promotions. As per the NDTV report, the company will only provide space for flight bookings, and online travel company Cleartrip would handle the post-booking support.
Amazon is banking its flight booking portal on low cancellations fee, cashback rewards, transparent pricing, and smooth booking experience. Amazon Prime members can avail cashback of Rs 800 to Rs 2,000, and non-Amazon Prime subscribers would get cashback between Rs 400 and Rs 1,600, depending on the value of the booking.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
