Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday (11 July) promised free electricity and waiver of old power bills if elected to power in Uttarakhand, reports Mint.
He announced free electricity for farmers and also assured that like Delhi, there would not be power cuts in Uttarakhand if the part is voted to power in the state.
The chief minister said that in terms of electricity, he would guarantee four things. "After our government is formed, we will provide 300 units free electricity. Farmers will receive free electricity. Old bills will be waived off. It will take some time to provide 24-hour electricity, but we will do it," Kejriwal said.
Targetting the leaders of the state, Kejriwal said, "The ruling party does not have a CM. They themselves say 'our CM is bad', there is a fight for CMs within the BJP." "And the opposition does not have a leader, they are busy doing the round of Delhi," he added. "Who will think about the development of Uttarakhand," he questioned.
Leaders of Uttarakhand have left no stone unturned to destroy the state. Both parties have made an arrangement from 2000 to loot the state after the other. The ruling party doesn't have CM. "Leaders of Uttarakhand have left no stone unturned to destroy the state. Both parties (BJP and Congress) have made an arrangement from 2000 to loot the state after the other. The ruling party doesn't have Chief Minister. For the first time in 70 years a party says its Chief Minister is useless," Kejriwal added.
It should be noted that a similar announcement was made in the Aam Aadmi Party's manifesto for the upcoming Punjab assembly elections.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
