Begusarai Remembers: Residents Confront Kanhaiya Kumar Over Anti-National Sloganeering In JNU

Seeking explanation for his “Bharat ke tukde tukde’’ sloganeering, residents of Bihar’s Begusarai stopped Kanhaiya Kumar’s cavalcade on Wednesday (17 April), reports India Today.
The said sloganeering was carried out in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) while Kanhaiya Kumar was the president of the student union. Kanhiya Kumar has been accused of supporting the event.
Kanhaiya Kumar, who is contesting the Lok Sabha election from Begusarai was on his campaigning spree when the locals stopped him to ask what kind of aazadi he was demanding and also asked him why was he opposing reservation to the economically backward class.
In an ensuing exchange of words, Kanhaiya was told by the people that, “Screaming Bharat ke tukde tukde honge won’t help you’’ for which Kanhaiya responded asking if they were BJP supporters. The villagers even shouted Murdabad slogans against Kanhaiya during the altercation.
Kanhaiya Kumar along with his aide Umar Khalid have been chargesheeted in the JNU sedition case.
