A pregnant BJP worker in West Bengal’s North 24 Paraganas district suffered a miscarriage after being allegedly assaulted by TMC goons, Times Now has reported.
This incident happened on Tuesday night (18 February) in Hasnabad and the victim has been identified as Sonali Biwi who had left the TMC a few months ago to join the BJP. She is married to a local BJP leader named Saddam Gazi.
As per the report, the husband-wife duo were returning back to the their home after attending a BJP booth level meeting when they were attacked by alleged TMC goons.
During the attack the goons kicked Sonali in the stomach while she tried to save her husband. She was initially taken to a local hospital and was later shifted to Basirhat super speciality hospital when her condition deteriorated. She later suffered a miscarriage.
A complaint in this matter has been filed at the Hasnabad police department.
