The Bombay High Court on Tuesday (30 June) stayed multiple FIRs which were filed against Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami by the Mumbai Police, Live Law has reported.
The court has ordered that no coercive action should be taken against Arnab.
This order was passed with regards to two FIRs filed against Arnab pertaining to his comments against Congress president Sonia Gandhi over the Palghar Sadhu lynching and a migrant worker gathering at the Bandra Railway Station.
The Bombay High Court bench of Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Riyaz Chagla observed while passing the order that no prima facie case was made out against Arnab.
Both Arnab and Republic TV's CFO were recently questioned in marathon sessions by the Mumbai police for hours at a police station despite the enforcement of lockdown guidelines.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
