The web-version of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)-developed e-GOPALA application for the assistance of dairy farmers was launched by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Purshottam Rupala on Saturday.
The application aims to enhance the productivity of dairy animals by providing real-time information to dairy farmers.
Rupala hailed the NDDB for promoting activities driven by technologies for milk producers and thus acting on PM Modi’s ‘Digital India’ aspirations.
Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the NDDB, expressed that the e-GOPALA platform will allow the farmers to manage their livestock. This includes purchasing and selling disease-free germplasm.
The app will also apprise them about the availability of high quality breeding services and provide guidance on animal nutrition and treatment as well.
Farmers can avail real-time information regarding the coverage and also progress of multiple government projects and schemes. They will be adequately informed about the utilization of Ayurvedic ethnoveterinary medicine for healing animals as well.
The application also consists of a feature that will alert the farmers about the vaccination due dates, calving, and diagnosis for pregnancy along with as aforementioned, different government schemes, Economic Times reports.
