The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at 45 locations in connection with the Coimbatore blast case.
While 40 of them are in Coimbatore, the five other locations are in Chennai.
In Chennai, the raids are being conducted at Jamalia, Perambur, Mannadi and Pudupet.
In Coimbatore, the raids are being conducted in areas such as Kottaimedu (where the blast occurred), Ukkadam (where some of the arrested accused live), Ponvizha Nagar and Rathinapuri.
The raids come about a fortnight after the NIA took over the case from the Tamil Nadu police and the transfer of the six accused to Chennai’s Puzhal prison for trial by the NIA Special Court in Poonamallee.
In recent raids, the NIA had found handwritten notes on Jihad from the house of the deceased Jameesha Mubeen and a pendrive with 100 videos of which 40 featured Zahran Hashim, the mastermind of the Easter Day terror attack in Colombo.
