Confusion was rife among engineering aspirants in West Bengal on Monday (17 December), after the JEE board made three different announcements over the 2019 West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) examination, Times of India has reported.
Citing Lok Sabha elections, the board first announced that the exam which was scheduled for April 21 will be postponed. On the same day, later in the evening, it was announced that the date for the exam will be 19 May.
Again, for the third time, it was announced on the website that a new date would be announced soon as the JEE Advanced exam is scheduled on 19 May.
The report quoted a source as saying that the board had announced 21 April as the exam date last year but several state boards are yet to announce the same. The source also stated that the Lok Sabha dates are also yet to be declared which may result in a postponement.
The exam form would be released on 26 December and the final date of application is said to be 22 January. Several other exams are likely to be postponed due to the elections.
