Twelve people have been found to be positive for novel coronavirus in the Tatpatti Bakhal area in Indore where a team of doctors who came to investigate coronavirus infection was attacked just days ago, reports Nai Duniya.
It should be noted that a covid-19 patient has died in the area 11 days ago. After the incident, a health team was sent to quarantine people in the area so that the infected people could be identified and covid-19 infection could be contained.
However, locals of Tatpatti Bakhal in Indore pelt stones at health workers who were there to screen people, in wake of coronavirus pandemic. The health worker team consisted of five people and included 2 lady doctors.
The next day the same team went back to the area with the police cover to take samples and ensure no one gets infected by the virus.
After this, the administration and health staff quarantined 68 people in the area. After investigation, 12 people have tested positive for coronavirus from the region and have been admitted at the MRTB Hospital for treatment.
The team of the administration and health department also screened the people at Tatpatti Bakhal on Saturday (4 April). Seven suspects were quarantined from Pinjara Bakhal and Jawahar Marg.
With this, the number of positive patients in Indore has increased to 128, while the death toll has reached 7. More than 700 people have been quarantined in the city.
