Coronavirus: BJP Party Workers To Feed Over 5 Crore People During 21-Day Nationwide Lockdown

In a major development, the party workers of the world’s largest political party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will make arrangements to feed over 5 crore poor people across the country during the 21-days nationwide lockdown due to novel coronavirus, reports ANI.

A high powered meeting was held by BJP party president JP Nadda with all the party's national office bearers and a decision was reached that the party workers will be tasked with feeding over 5 crore poor people across the country during the lockdown period.

This message was conveyed to all the state party presidents via video-conferencing. Additionally, the review of progress will be done via daily video conference meetings.

On Tuesday (24 March), Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown to fight coronavirus outbreak in the entire country stating that social distancing is the only way to counter this national and global threat.

The latest figures of positive coronavirus cases in India stands at 649, said Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday (26 March) and so far thirteen people have died from the disease.
