During the conference, he said the government's first priority for the next few weeks should be "testing, tracing, isolating, and quarantining" and for this, administrative efforts down to the district level must be coordinated.
Modi said it is imperative to work on a war footing, identify hotspots of the virus, encircle them and ensure that the virus does not spread out.
On Thursday, a total of 1,965 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Indian while 50 people have died across the country. Out of 1,965, 150 people have recovered.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
