If sources are to be believed, a Saudi Arabian man, who was caught spitting at shopping trolleys in a mall in Saudi Arabia’s north-western region of Hail, could face death sentence if convicted, reports Gulfnews.
The unidentified man was arrested and interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the action.
It should be noted that the gulf country is battling coronavirus and has reported over 2,000 positive cases.
According to Saudi online newspaper Ajel, "His act is considered among major crimes. This behaviour is religiously and legally condemned. It is regarded as imparting corruption by deliberately seeking to spread the coronavirus epidemic among members of society and stirring panic among them.”
The report further states that the punishment may go up to death penalty for the accused.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
