Finance Ministry Extends Last Date For FY19 Income Tax Filing, Aadhaar-PAN Linking To 30 June

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing a press conference via video conference on Tuesday (24 March) said that the Ministry is very close to announcing an economic package and it will be announced sooner rather than later.
The Finance Minister said that the major focus of the press conference would be addressing relief measures over regulatory compliance and deadlines - affected due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Income Tax
Last date for filing returns for Financial Year 2018-19 extended to 30 June 2020 and interest rate slashed from 12 to 9 per cent for delayed payment. In case of delayed deposit for TDS the interest has been slashed from 18 per cent to 9 per cent.
The last date to link Aadhaar and PAN linking has been extended to 30 June. The last date for Vivaad Se Vishwas scheme has also been extended to 20 June.
