Five Terrorists Killed, One IAF Garud Commando Martyred During Encounter In Kashmir’s Bandipora

Security forces have gunned down at least five terrorists in an ongoing encounter in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, the Indian Express has reported.

A Garud commando of the Indian Air Force was killed, and an Army soldier was injured during the encounter.

Security forces launched a search operation in Chandergeer village in Hajin area of the district after receiving intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in the area. The operation was initiated after terrorists fired on a search party of the security forces.

A joint team of  the Indian Army, Special Operations Group and Central Reserve Police Force are involved in the operation.
