Fourth J&K Encounter In 24 Hours: 2-3 Terrorists Surrounded By Security Forces In Ongoing Shopian Operation

Another encounter has broken out in the morning today (21 March) between security forces and jihadist terrorists at the Imam Sahib area of Shopian District in South Kashmir, reports ANI. This is the fourth encounter in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) in the last 24 hours.

It is believed that two to three terrorists are trapped at the house which is the site of the encounter. The house itself is located in a residential locality.

The personnel conducting the operation include soldiers from the 14 and 178 CRPF battalions, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, as well as army men from the 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).

Just yesterday (21 March), an encounter took place in Baramulla district in which two terrorists were eliminated. 2 Ak-47 rifles, 3 magazines, a cell phone, as well a GPS device were recovered from the encounter site.
