Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on 22 September (Saturday) took everyone by surprise after he claimed that he sent Nagamangala JD(S) MLA Suresh Gowda to meet BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa.
Kumaraswamy has told the media that he possesses the recording of the conversation between the two individuals and will release it when need be.
Deccan Herald reported him as saying, “I had sent Suresh Gowda to Yeddyurappa to know what he says and the conversation has been recorded on the mobile phone. If my call to revolt against the BJP is an offence, what should I call the BJP leaders, who claimed that they will burn the state?”
Providing reassurance, CM Kumaraswamy said that no Congress MLA is in touch with the BJP. The media questioned him about Congress MLA M T B Nagaraj’s visit to Mumbai. Kumaraswamy said that he had obtained prior permission and informed that he will be returning to town on Sunday.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
