Adani Ports and Logistics-run Mundra port, as well as Kandla port in Gujarat have been put on a state of high alert after intelligence inputs about the presence of Pakistan-trained commandos in the Gulf of Kutch, reports The New Indian Express.
Security measures have been enhanced in the area and ships using the ports have been advised to maintain extra vigilance. It is believed that the Pakistani commandos entered the area via the Harami Naala Creek.
Adani Ports has issued a security advisory stating that the infilitrators are thought to have expertise in underwater attacks and thus, “utmost measures of security must be taken to prevent any untoward incident in Gujarat.”
The advisory has asked for the Marine Control station and port operation centre to be immediately informed of any suspicious activity in nearby waters.
Just a few days ago, personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF) had discovered two abandoned Pakistani fishing boats in the creek area close to the India-Pakistan border.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
