Shalini Talwar, wife of rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, has approached a court in Delhi and leveled allegations against her husband of inflicting physical, mental and emotional abuse upon her.
Talwar has filed an application under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh.
She says that Singh has been involved in illicit sexual activities with multiple women during the course of their marriage.
In her 118-page long complaint, the lady has detailed in length about the rapper’s alleged relationship with a Punjabi actress, substance abuse, and also of him forcing Talwar to quit her job. She also alleged that on one occasion, she was locked inside her room without food for more than 18 hours.
She even mentioned that Singh concealed his marriage from the public eye in order to further drive his sexual intentions and illegitimate relationships.
“The respondent (Singh) broke the applicant as an individual, mentally and emotionally. The applicant, due to the continuous cruelty imposed on her, almost started identifying herself as a farm animal, shepherded from here to there while being treated cruelly,” Talwar’s plea read, as reported by Indian Express.
The woman accused Singh of ignoring her calls for help when her oxygen levels dropped after contracting Covid-19 in April this year.
She has demanded Rs 20 crore in compensation from the rapper and has also pleaded the court to order Singh to pay her Rs 5 lakh on a monthly basis for a completely furnished house in a reputed location in Delhi. Further, Talwar has asked for her stridhan and dowry articles to be returned back to her subsequently.
